Become a NYS 4-H Influencer!

New York 4-H Influencers is a new state level communications leadership program based on the Illinois 4-H Influencer project. High school aged youth will receive university-level publicity training AND get hands-on experiences and portfolio pieces for college and internship applications as they get to try a social media career on for size. This program is a collaboration between NYS 4-H, Cornell Cooperative Extension Communications, and youth. The program will begin and end on March 1st, each year, starting in 2025. Youth can participate more than one year, but must re-apply each year.

This program is for youth who are passionate about social media and communications and want to help promote all of the amazing things happening in NYS 4-H. Youth will have to opportunity to watch trends and create eye-catching content.

Youth that are selected are committing to the following:

  • Attendance of the NYS Fair, several days between August 20-September 1, 2025 in Syracuse, NY

  • Attendance of monthly virtual meetings

  • Attendance of other 4-H events of the youth's choosing

Scholarships may be available to help offset the cost to attend Career Ex and the NYS Fair.
