The Mission: Using provided “Mission Supply Packs,” have youth engage in hands-on activities to learn about NASA and its missions, STEM careers, Astronomy, Heliophysics (Sun or Solar Science), and Earth’s role in all of it! Co-developed by Maryland 4-H and NASA HEAT at Goddard, this program uses the sun to engage audiences with STEM in a new and exciting way!

Facilitators who register to receive support from NASA need to commit to:

  • Attending Pre- AND Post-Event training for Facilitators, 5-7pm: 1/26 & 3/16 (tentative)

  • Attending at least 3 of the 2023 youth event virtual sessions, Thursdays, 5-7 pm EST: 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9

  • Implementing at least 1 club or event series in your community with the NASA activities from Spring through Fall of 2023, and share data with 4-H and NASA.

Certificates will be provided upon completion of the program. There is no fee for facilitator training. Enrolled facilitators will receive their own “Mission Supply Pack” containing materials needed to complete the activities in the included Youth Guide.

Land Acknowledgement

Cornell University is located on the traditional homelands of the Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' (the Cayuga Nation). The Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' are members of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, an alliance of six sovereign Nations with a historic and contemporary presence on this land. The Confederacy precedes the establishment of Cornell University, New York state, and the United States of America. We acknowledge the painful history of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' dispossession, and honor the ongoing connection of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' people, past and present, to these lands and waters.

This land acknowledgment has been reviewed and approved by the traditional Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' leadership. Learn more
