National Recognition Programs Elevate Your Beyond Ready 4-H’ers and Young Alums

In January, applications will open for 4-H professionals and volunteers to nominate teen 4-H’ers for two national recognition programs:

  • Young Alumni Advisory Committee: This group serves as a bridge to the young alumni community, informing Council's Board of Trustees & working closely with Council associates to provide counsel, work on strategic initiatives and help grow our network of 4-H alumni.

  • The Youth in Action Program: Amplifies the diverse stories and leadership of 4-H youth who are making a difference in their communities every day. It is a premiere community of 4-H’ers who are preparing for their future while showcasing how 4-H changed their lives and equipped them to change the lives of others.

    • All applicants will receive

      • Media & Storytelling training

      • Have their stories saved in our National 4-H database

  • A $5,000 scholarship, professional development, and all-expense paid trips as National 4-H spokespeople.

  • The nomination window will open Jan 27-Mar 31, with an informational webinar taking place on Jan. 21. Nominees should be between 14-19 on Jan 1, 2025. Apply here: https://4-h.org/youthinaction

Land Acknowledgement

Cornell University is located on the traditional homelands of the Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' (the Cayuga Nation). The Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' are members of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, an alliance of six sovereign Nations with a historic and contemporary presence on this land. The Confederacy precedes the establishment of Cornell University, New York state, and the United States of America. We acknowledge the painful history of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' dispossession, and honor the ongoing connection of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' people, past and present, to these lands and waters.

This land acknowledgment has been reviewed and approved by the traditional Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' leadership. Learn more
