NYS Fair Events and Competition Deadlines Approaching

This is just a quick reminder that there are deadlines for State Fair Registrations for events and contests on the horizon and we don’t want any kids to miss out on the opportunity. Below are the events/competitions that are open to all 4-H youth at the NYS Fair.


I also want to take a moment to remind folks to set aside the date of Wednesday July 26th @ 1pm for the State Fair Information Session via Zoom. You will be able to access the zoom at the following link:

STATE FAIR EVENTS/COMPETITIONS AND DEADLINES


When looking for events on the NYS 4-H Webpage (https://www.nys4-h.org/new-york-state-fair) be sure to scroll down until you see the box for Youth Building Events and Activities. Click on More info and a box will pop up, to right in that box you will see and arrow which will allow you to scroll through each event and it’s information. This access point is the same for Animal Science. Fine the Animal Science box and click on More Info and then click the arrow to find the species of interest.


Animal Competitions/Shows – All Species – Registration Closes August 4th (Additional information and details also available at: https://cals.cornell.edu/nys-4-h-animal-science-programs/state-events/nys-fair)


Avian Bowl, Turkey/Chicken BBQ and Egg Chef – Registration Closes August 4th


Dog Photo and Poetry Contest (specific information will be posted soon) – Registration Closes July 31st


WHEP (Wildlife Habitat Education Program) – Registration closes August 21st


Cupcake Showdown – Registration Closed August 11th


Great Fair Food Face Off (formerly Jr Iron Chef) – Registration Closes August 24th


Fashion and Textile Review – Registration Closes July 21st


Junior Superintendents - Application Closes August 1st


Teen and Youth Leaders – Nomination/Application August 11th
