Save the Date: National 4-H Conference

Who

NYS 4-H will be fully supporting a delegation of six 4-H Members, ages 15-19, and one 4-H Educator to represent CCE, 4-H Youth Development at the 2023 National 4-H Conference.

What & Why

National 4-H Conference is the flagship youth development opportunity of USDA, hosted by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). Youth will experience unparalleled discovery and learning, professional development, and networking with 4-H’ers from around the world. The event features roundtable sessions, Youth Career Fair exhibitions, live “cool job” panels, community service and much more.

Where

At the Hyatt Regency in Crystal City, VA we will explore federal agency partners work in roundtables, workshops, assemblies, community service, and energizers to develop our youth and adult leaders!

When

National 4-H Conference will be held April 14-19, 2023. Our NYS 4-H Civic Engagement Specialist, Jamila Walida Simon will provide all enrolled in school or home-schooled experiences a letter explaining the event and said 4-H delegates will be responsible for making up all work missed.

Selection Process and Details

Interested youth should fill out the registration form and turn it in by

Tuesday, February 28, 2023, which includes a cover letter, resume, letter of support from a local 4-H Educator and two short essays. Once the NYS delegation is selected, the NYS 4-H Office will complete the registration process and work with the delegates to make lodging and travel arrangements.

Deliverables

4-H participants are expected to apply and share their experience upon return through a podcast, video, letter to the editor, or formal presentation to club or county association about your experience of the conference will be generated and shared with the NYS 4-H Civic Engagement Specialist.
