STAR 2023 a Success

Happy Friday!

STAR 2023 was hosted at 4-H Camp Shankitunk in Delhi, NY from Friday, May 19- Sunday, May 21, 2023. Our planning team welcomed fifteen counties (Delaware, Fulton-Montgomery, Herkimer, Lewis, Orange, Oswego, Saratoga, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Warren, Wayne, Westchester). Thank you all!

Our keynote speaker and 4-H alum; Dana Jane Thomas gave seven tips to our 4-H members, educators, and volunteers to keep in mind for a successful journey in 4-H and in life. We explored the Wild Edibles curriculum, photography, floral arranging, knot tying, fire starting, and more!

Lots of friendships were solidified and our 2023 4-H Career Ex FA's and leadership team had a face-to-face planning meeting. Check out our STAR 2023 closing video!

Land Acknowledgement

Cornell University is located on the traditional homelands of the Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' (the Cayuga Nation). The Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' are members of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, an alliance of six sovereign Nations with a historic and contemporary presence on this land. The Confederacy precedes the establishment of Cornell University, New York state, and the United States of America. We acknowledge the painful history of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' dispossession, and honor the ongoing connection of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' people, past and present, to these lands and waters.

This land acknowledgment has been reviewed and approved by the traditional Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' leadership. Learn more
