STARR 22-23 Planning Team Applications Open

nys4h4

Can you believe it ... we just concluded the 2022 4-H Career Explorations and enjoyed being back in person! Let's take advantage of this sunshine and energy to build momentum for our STARR 2022-23 event!

Our STARR Planning team consists of Rachel Williams, CCE-Seneca, John Bowe, CCE-Warren, Dan Carusone, CCE-Warren, and Jamila Walida-Simon. In order to get a jump on things, our 2022-2023 STARR planning team applications are now open and are due on August 15, 2022. As we transition into the NYS Fair space, we can share planning materials directly with educators and with accepted 4-H members.

Eligibility: Youth must be a good-standing 4-H member, have already attended at least one STARR event, be motivated and willing to learn, be willing to learn and work as a team since you will be a part of a youth-adult partnership, and be at least thirteen years of age. Youth will need to work with their county educators to put together your application as it needs their approval and a letter of recommendation. In addition, you will need to identify an adult who will serve as your adult partner.

Land Acknowledgement

Cornell University is located on the traditional homelands of the Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' (the Cayuga Nation). The Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' are members of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, an alliance of six sovereign Nations with a historic and contemporary presence on this land. The Confederacy precedes the establishment of Cornell University, New York state, and the United States of America. We acknowledge the painful history of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' dispossession, and honor the ongoing connection of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' people, past and present, to these lands and waters.

This land acknowledgment has been reviewed and approved by the traditional Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' leadership. Learn more
